Open Teams

The Statesman Cap10K, held in the heart of downtown Austin, presents the perfect way to show your team spirit, make new friends, and compete against other teams. The Cap10K Team Challenge includes two categories of competition for each of our four Team Divisions (Social, Corporate, Nonprofit & Military/First Responders). Participant chip time is used to determine the fastest team members.

  • Social Teams include family and friend groups, clubs, and organizations.
  • Corporate Teams include employees of a business or enterprise and members of the employee’s immediate household.
  • Nonprofit Teams include employees and members of the organization and members of their immediate household.
  • Military & First Responder Teams include active and retired service members and members of the service members’ immediate households.

Awards will be presented to:

Fastest Division Team

  • Fastest team (top 10 team members) will receive a team trophy.
  • Second and Third place teams will be recognized.
  • Trophy presentation at 10:00 a.m. in the Winner’s Circle presented by Netspend.

Largest Division Team

  • Largest team will receive a team trophy.
  • Second and Third place teams will be recognized.
  • Trophy presentation at 10:00 a.m. in the Winner’s Circle presented by Netspend.

School Teams

The Statesman Cap10K, held in the heart of downtown Austin, presents the perfect way to show your school spirit, make new friends, and compete against other schools. This year, the Cap10K School Challenge includes three divisions: Elementary, Middle & High School. Participant chip time is used to determine the fastest team members.

School Terms include students, teachers, and faculty members.

Awards will be presented to:

Fastest Division Team (top 5 girls and top 5 boys; adults times excluded)

  • Top girls team and boys team in each Division (Elementary, Middle & High school) will receive a team trophy. Second & Third place teams in each Division will receive a team plaque.
  • Top three girls team and boys teams in each Division (Elementary, Middle & High school) will receive a check donation to school’s PTA (1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200 and 3rd Place $100). Donation awarded to school’s Parent Teacher Association or school fund following verification of official results.
  • Trophy presentation at 10:00 a.m. in the Winner’s Circle presented by Netspend.

Largest Division Team (includes students and administrators)

  • One trophy was awarded to the top team in each Division (Elementary, Middle, and High School).
  • Second and Third place teams will be recognized.
  • Trophy presentation at 10:00 a.m. in the Winner’s Circle presented by Netspend.
