Elite Athletes

Runners expecting to be seeded in the fastest group are required to provide proof of their qualifying race result for a certified distance with a time that meets the minimum time requirements for at 10K or equivalent qualifying standard.

Elite 10K
33:00 minutes or less – Men
38:00 minutes or less – Women

Sub-Elite 10K
36:00 minutes or less Men
41:00 minutes or less – Women

When registering for the 2025 race include an expected finish time equal to current race performance. The elite and sub-elite corrals will be reserved for athletes with the fastest verified times. AFTER you register, submit proof of time below. When submitting the expected finish time have the following information ready: link to qualifying time race results, race name, month and year of the race, and race distance. The qualifying time must occur between 10/10/2024 – 4/11/2026. If no official time is verified by the race office, the participant will be placed in a sub-seeded starting corral.

Age Group Awards

The top three participants in each age group will receive their awards in the mail when the official results are confirmed. Age group medals are awarded based on runners chip time. The Statesman Capitol 10,000 Race Director tabulates all the results and all decisions are final. Age groups for Male & Female are as follows:
12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 & over.

Participants without a Start, 5K Split and Finish Time are not eligible for age group awards.
