Micah Shalome & The Babylonians

Starting in Gainesville. FL in 2007, Micah Shalom formed a band of ska, reggae, and world musicians to play his brand of original and cover music from these genres. The Babylonians now reside in Austin TX with a cast of diverse musical backgrounds from Latin to Ska to Afrobeat to Reggae.
 
Members of the Babylonians play in many Austin bands including Shiny Ribs, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Superfonicos, Don Chani, Lion Heights, Mau Mau Chaplains, Atlas Maior and more.

DJ Neema V

DJ Neema V combines classic turntablism techniques with modern finger drumming and sample chopping skills to create non-stop danceability. This open format Austin DJ draws on a deep knowledge of music and music theory to keep the energy building. You can catch this full time local DJ rocking downtown cruises along town lake, or at downtown venues like Lux, Nook and Barcelona. When he’s not rocking live DJ sets he writes and produces hip-hop, reggaetón, and dance music with various local artists.

Tiarra Girls
The fierce sisterhood of Tiffany, Tori, and Sophia Baltierra. Three-time Austin Music Award winners, Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders alumni, City of Austin Proclamation; May 23 as Tiarra Girl Day, and archived in the Austin History Center as the Youngest Latina Band in Austin Texas. A diligence in making their own music that is influenced by many genres. The power trio delivers an eclectic sound and anthemic lyrics celebrating a message of unity and empowerment both in English and in Spanish.

Audioroad
Audioroad is a melding of five artists each having traveled individual and diverse music roads. The outcome of the new band has proven surprising chemistry, demonstrating that the sum of the parts is what awakens the authentic soul of music. Audioroad’s influences bring everything from 80’s stadium rock, southern harmony, Jim Morrison, and Neil Young into their unique blend of offerings.

Austin Thaalam Percussion
We are a group of Chenda (South Indian percussion drum) enthusiasts from Austin. We have been learning and performing Chenda melam in Central Texas for more than 3 years. Chenda Melam is performed by a group during major festivals in Kerala, India and the art form is more than 300 years old. Come by and enjoy the entertainment during Cap10K and we will re energize you.

Connally High School Jazz Band
This is the Connally HS Jazz Band’s 17th year to perform at the Capitol 10k. The band is in high demand all around Austin, playing parties and fundraisers. The CHS Jazz Band is under the direction of Mr. Jason Scott Russell & Mr. Marc Telles.

Little Green Bunnies
Little Green Bunnies like to entertain you! We’re annual performers of the Cap10k near 12th Street and Winsted Lane. Musical sets include Ray Charles, Doobie Brothers, Joe Walsh, the Beatles, ZZTop, and Queen. Wave at us and sing along during your run!!!

Bidi Bidi Banda
“Bidi Bidi Banda is Austin’s first all-star Selena Tribute. Composed of members of some of Austin’s premier latin bands, Bidi Bidi Banda is the refried dream of Stephanie Bergara, a native Austinite who grew up listening to Tejano radio and singing in to a hair brush while wearing her mother’s red lipstick. The band’s interpretation of Selena’s greatest hits will leave you belting lyrics, doing the washing machine and reliving greatness of the Queen of Tejano Music.”

World Gone Mad — Austin’s Rock & Roll Non-Marching Marching Band
Founded in 2006, World Gone Mad has been rocking the live music capital for a solid decade. Ever faithful to their slogan, “Keep Austin Loud”, WGM looks forward to another ten years of generating 86dB sound-violation warnings the hard way!
