The Kindness Campaign Renamed 2025 Cap10K Race Beneficiary

Austin, TXThe 48th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000, presented by Baylor Scott & White Health and scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, has extended beneficiary status to The Kindness Campaign for the 2025 event. One dollar from every Cap10K registration will go to the local nonprofit organization. Race participants will also have the option to make an additional donation during registration, which the Statesman will match up to $10,000. Registration is currently open on Cap10K.com.

Founded in 2015, The Kindness Campaign’s mission is to create and provide accessible emotional health curriculum and programs for children and adults in homes and classrooms. Since its inception, this non-profit has provided in-depth, hands-on curriculum and programming to over 239,000 children through its virtual and in-person programs.

The Kindness Campaign has partnered with companies such as BK Beauty, AMC Theaters, Indeed, National Charity League, Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Nordstrom, Amy’s Ice Creams, Kendra Scott, and more, helping to expand its reach. During the 2022 World Kindness Day initiative alone, over 58,000 children and families nationwide were served.

Jeff Simecek, Cap10K Race Director, believes the mission of The Kindness Campaign strongly aligns with the race’s core mission: to help improve the health and wellness of the Austin community.

“We saw the incredible generosity of Statesman Cap10K participants support the organization at our 2024 event, and I am pleased to extend beneficiary status to The Kindness Campaign again for our 2025 race,” said Simecek. “Coupled with the good work and positive impact the TKC provides in the community, it makes sense to continue that work for 2025. Emotional health and physical health go hand in hand. Exercise is an important aspect of both, and running is a great way to reduce the stresses of daily life. We also believe in lending our support to local organizations like The Kindness Campaign, which is doing so much to teach children the importance of positive emotional health.”

Andra Liemandt, Founder and CEO of The Kindness Campaign, shares her deep gratitude for being chosen as the 2025 Cap10K race beneficiary.

“We are thrilled to be back as the 2025 beneficiary,” said Liemandt. “Thanks to the support of the Statesman Cap10K and its thriving community of runners, we’ve been able to expand several of our programs, especially those targeting middle grade and high school students. Teen emotional health is a target focus for us, and this past year we’ve been especially proud to grow our teen leadership incubator, Kind Leadership. Additionally, we are on-track to serve over 60,000 elementary students across the country on World Kindness Day this November with emotional health boxes and activations, at no cost to their schools. Finally, being part of Cap10K has allowed us to tap into a new community of advocates who are passionate about health on every level, from physical to mental and emotional. Runners we met last year are now volunteering for our organization, helping us get more resources to schools, families, and children across the country.”
