2023 Statesman Cap10K welcomes Netspend as Autograph Wall and Winner’s Circle exclusive sponsor

Jeff Simecek Statesman Cap10K Race Director

Austin, TXThe 46th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000, presented by Baylor Scott & White Health and scheduled for Sunday, April 16, 2023, is proud to announce Netspend as the new sponsor for popular post-race Autograph Wall and Winner’s Circle activations. Registration is currently open on Cap10K.com. Jeff Simecek, Cap10K Race Director, believes Netspend’s local involvement in community events and their support of community giving aligns with the race’s: to provide the best participant experience possible and to support local non-profits by having a race beneficiary.

“I believe that creating a fun race and unique post-event experience at the Finish Line Festival is key to race participants as they celebrate their achievement in crossing the finish line,” says Simecek. “It is also part of our core mission to support local organizations like The Mike & Sherry Project, our 2023 beneficiary, which assists the hospitality industry. Our new partners at Netspend believe in community engagement and are visible at events in Austin through sponsorships and charitable support. Netspend will play a strategic role in the overall Cap10K experience as the exclusive sponsor of The Autograph Wall and The Winner’s Circle at the Finish Line Festival.”

“Netspend is proud to sponsor the 2023 Statesman Cap10K’s Autograph Wall and Winner’s Circle, where we’ll celebrate with the runners post-race,” said Netspend President, Kelley Knutson.

“Supporting the Cap10K is important to Netspend because we’re committed to building better futures for our customers, team members, partners and the communities where we live, work and contribute. It’s also our privilege to help raise awareness for the race’s 2023 beneficiary, the Mike & Sherry Project, an incredible organization that provides vital mental health resources to Austin’s service industry workers.”

The 2023 Statesman Cap10K benefits The Mike & Sherry Project. In addition to one dollar from every Cap10K registration going to the local nonprofit organization, race participants can also choose to make an additional donation when registering for 2023, which the Statesman will match up to $10,000.
