Run or walk on Global Running Day and save your time on your own device. Once you’ve got your time logged, request your official Austin GRD finisher’s certificate.

We’ve partnered with local legends Southside Flying Pizza and Last Stand Brewing Company to present our Global Running Day tailgater special. Pre-order your pie and suds from Southside Flying Pizza before 12:00 p.m. and it will be delivered hot and fresh to the Statesman for you to pick-up after your run. Then grab a lawn chair or a blanket to kick back and enjoy the downtown Austin skyline.
Step 1 To begin your PRE-ORDER first choose Pick-up, Date 6/2/21, and Time 7:00 p.m.
Step 2 Under Pizza Specials section, choose Statesman Run. Note, ALL pre-orders will include FREE delivery to the Statesman for pick-up.
Step 3 Choose from one of 4 large delicious Southside Flying Pizza pie flavors (set menu, 14-in pie, 8-slices/pie) and one of 3 Last Stand Brewing Company canned beer six-packs (set menu).
Step 4 Pay for your order
Please observe and follow proper hygiene safety while attending the event. Respect your neighbor’s choice to mask-up or un-mask.
Ample free parking available on property. Property pay stations are free on event day.
Ride your bike, we have bike rack parking. Don’t forget to bring your own lock.
Bring your own lawn chair or a blanket to chillax on when you get back from the run. Camp chairs also provided.
Bring your own beverage. No glass containers. Bottled and sparkling water plus snack chips provided.
Each night around sunset roughly 1.5 million Mexican Free-tailed bats emerge from the recesses of the Congress Avenue bridge in search of insects. View the largest urban bat population in the country from the waterfront lawn or the bridge, both spectacular views.
Indoor restrooms available. ADA accessible facilities. Face mask required to enter building.

Social event run events are run and walk friendly, free, open to the public and begin and end at each respective host location. There is no official start time and there is no official timing or scoring. Digital course maps and directions are provided online. Pick up a printed copy of the route from the event host before you start. Parking information is variable based on the location. Follow local parking information for parking policy.
This is a self-guided and self-paced activity. There are no street closures or directional signage marking the training route. Participants should abide by and follow all local and state traffic safety signage and public use information. Social run routes are measured to an approximate 6.2 mile distance however, participants always have the option to U-turn at any point to match their fitness ability. Social run route surfaces will vary from sidewalks and crushed granite to paved pathways and bike lanes.
