Austin, TX

Thousands of Statesman Capitol 10,000 participants and fans will be treated to a dynamic mix of classic soul, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, Top 40, ‘80s and more when the Matt Wilson Band and Electric Circus take the Finish Line Festival stage on April 8, 2018.

The vintage circus-themed party band Electric Circus will open, bringing thousands of Finish Line Festival attendees under a big top of Top 40, Dance, Hip-Hop and ‘80s songs.

“Year after year, our Cap10K runners bring talent, high energy and creativity,” said Jeff Simecek, Cap10K Race Director. “Our 2018 band lineup reflects that uniquely Austin combination.”

“We believe Electric Circus is “The Greatest Show Band on Earth,” and we look forward to bringing our act to the Statesman Cap10K,” said Cord Stone of Stargazer Productions.

Headliner Matt Wilson Band will follow with its deep catalog of classic soul, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, funk and gospel. The Austin-based singer-songwriter first gained national exposure as the “Piano Man” in Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp’s Tony Award-winning musical “Movin’ Out.”

“We travel often, so we’re particularly excited to bring our down-home flavor to an event that means so much to a city we love and live in,” said band leader Matt Wilson.

The Cap10K is not only the largest 10K race in Texas, but also one of the top six in the nation. The iconic Austin race will celebrate its 41st running on April 8, 2018. In 2017, the race had more than 21,000 registered participants. Additional race information is available at
