The Statesman Capitol 10,000 is ready to bring the soul and the blues rock to its 40th annual race. Austin bands Tomar and the FCs and Rochelle & The Sidewinders will perform at the Finish Line Festival after the milestone run on April 23, 2017.
Rochelle & The Sidewinders, a high-energy blues rock band, which was voted “The Best Blues Band in Austin” in 2016 by the Austin Blues Society, will take the stage first at the Finish Line Festival from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tomar and the FCs, a five-piece soul band that was KUTX’s Artist of the Month in January 2017, will follow at 9:30-10:15 a.m. and then again at 10:30-11:15 a.m.
“The Cap10K is ready to shake, rattle and roll from the start to finish of our 40th year,” said Jeff Simecek, Cap10K Race Director. “We’re so pleased that we have a dynamic band lineup to match!”
“Rochelle & The Sidewinders are super excited to participate in an iconic Austin event like the Statesman Cap10K, especially during such a special year,” said Rochelle & The Sidewinders band member Tom Coplen.
“Tomar and the FCs are thrilled to perform at the Finish Line Festival of Texas’ largest 10K race — the Statesman Cap10K,” said Tomar and the FCs band manager, Kate Andrews. “We plan to bring it, with energetic soul and go-go dancing to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of this race!”
