A well developed training plan is guide to fitness success.

The summer is closing and it’s time to start thinking about setting some fall fitness goals – and getting ready for the #cap10k.

We have Hannah Bennett, PT, DPT, CSCS, CET, Baylor, Scott & White Health – Round Rock Physical Therapist, to provide you with some tips.

First, Hannah says: Create a training plan and checklist that leads up to race-day to help reduce stress and pre-race jitters. Your plan should include both the weekly distances as well as final workouts of your training program. Even your race-day attire, a thorough equipment check (if needed), and pre-race nutrition should be included in this plan.

As the race approaches, your training/workouts should mimic the actual race. Join a local running club (group) to practice varied training programs to prepare you for the course, distance, terrain, and other factors like weather conditions.
