Kyle Cirac wasn’t even registered to run in Sunday’s Capitol 10,000.

But the 25-year-old Reno, Nev., native scored an extra race packet from a friend so he could join his girlfriend and her parents in the race.

What Cirac didn’t plan on doing that morning was dying, just a quarter-mile from the finish line.

“Crazy,” said Cirac (pronounced Sy-rack), who was revived from a cardiac arrest seconds after he collapsed. “I thought ‘let’s finish and get a picture at the finish line.'”
